  • Design and implement assistance projects the enhance the social, cultural, and educational experiences for youth in North America, and
  • Target financial and alternative support resources that further the current and future objectives of the Foundation.

SYF is dedicated to enriching the link between travel experiences and the development of responsible youth. SYF is a 501(c)3 non-profit charity.

Who:

Formed in the year 2000, the SYTA Youth Foundation (SYF) is the non-profit, charity sister organization of the Student & Youth Travel Association (SYTA). The purpose of our Foundation is to design and implement assistance programs that "Give Something Back" to the community of youth that makes up the vast population of potential student & youth travelers.

What:

The SYF has established the SYF "Road" Scholarship program to award funds to youth who, for various reasons, are unable to afford the cost of their group's educational travel. We invite teachers and youth leaders to nominate a student or youth for the SYF "Road" Scholarship. Candidates will be judged based upon need, as documented in their completed application form. Forms must be submitted to SYF.

Why:

We understand the importance of travel as a means of personal growth and enrichment outside of the classroom, and we also realize that not all youth have the resources to afford the costs related to these valuable travel programs. By providing financial resources, the Foundation's goal is to make a positive difference, through travel, in the young lives of tomorrow's leaders.

When:

Applications will be reviewed five times per year. Reviews will be conducted in January, March, May, September and November. Applications received on or before the first of the month of review will be included in that month's review.
