Black History - Atlanta
In the late 1800s, Atlanta was a racially polarized city, despite nearly half of its residents being black. In the early 1900's, white mobs attacked black neighbors and the newly revived Ku Klux Klan set up its headquarters in Atlanta. In the 1960s Atlanta minister Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., emerged as leader of the civil rights movement, bringing increased prominence to the city. Atlanta offers the experience to relive poignant events that have shaped the path of black history.
